Abstract

The article answers three questions: what is your perception of private schools? How much does context influence this perception especially when it is marginalized? Can studying in a public or private school affect the learning of the students? To respond to these, in-depth interviews were applied, which were analyzed by the marginalization levels of the interviewees using the grounded theory. The results show that regardless of the level of marginalization, in the collective imagination it has been permeated that private schools are better than public ones, the interviewees attribute it mainly to infrastructure, teacher preparation and English teaching; Although these aspects were important, it was also considered that the student's effort in their studies is the priority factor in learning.
