Even though Chile has been characterized by its good institutional and democratic results, the persistence of mistrust in the political system and the poor performance of governments have opened the debate on the legitimacy of its democracy. Therefore, this paper analyzes the factors that influence satisfaction with democracy in Chile. To carry out this study, data from the Latinobarómetro 2020 survey was used. The analysis was carried out using binary logistic regression to estimate the effects of a set of predictors on satisfaction with democracy. The results show that satisfaction with democracy is mainly affected by the performance and trust in the political regime. The results are discussed to contribute to the debate on the legitimacy with which democratic regimes operate today.
